Dennis Serre is the President and CEO of Serre Financial and its group of companies. Part of Dennis’ role is to ensure that all current business complies with the rules of the Income Tax Act, and to introduce new options for tax savings and tax deferrals to Serre Financial clients.
Early in his career, Dennis joined the Royal Canadian Navy where he earned his degree in engineering from Dalhousie University. He later earned his Corporate Certificate in Accounting and Finance from Ryerson University. He has also completed several industry related courses: IFIC Sales, IFIC Compliance; CFP courses: Wealth Accumulation, Risk Management, Estate Planning, Personal Financial Planning; CSC, InfoNex: MFDA Compliance, IDA Compliance and Regulations; and has taken part in various educational seminars of the past 23 years.
Dennis’ work related experiences began while working at the Canada Revenue Agency, as a pension specialist and Trust Officer. In this role, Dennis acquired valuable skills that have greatly attributed to his expertise in the areas of pension plan creation, design and administration. The role also allows Dennis to obtain significant knowledge and the requirements of trust and fiduciary duties. His background also includes roles as Pension Specialist, Pension Officer and Compliance Manager at AIC, Berkshire, CI Funds, Mackenzie and M.R.S. Trust. Dennis has successfully implemented pension platforms for several financial institutions.
Over the last 15 years, Dennis has been focused on structuring various solutions for business owners and professionals. Serre Financial has helped several thousand clients to minimize taxes, through immediate savings, at retirement and from an estate planning perspective. Properly executing Business Exit Strategies have allowed Serre Financial’s clients to focus on their goals today, tomorrow and in the future. Today, Dennis is being recognized as a high tax authority through working with the trusted advisor’s team.
